More NSW evacuations az rain continues 2nd March 2012

Thousands more people across NSW may need to evacuate their homes as the state continues to be pounded by what could turn out to be the heaviest rainfall in more than 125 years.

Western Sydney has copped less of the deluge than the rest of the state over the past 48 hours, but Warragamba Dam is almost 99 per cent full and is likely to overflow on Friday.

The State Emergency Service has ordered around 1500 people to evacuate and told another 1500 to prepare to evacuate since the heavy rains began.
