Forum Board Changes 24th March 2013

From time to time members have suggested different ideas for the layout of the Forum Board.  The software we are using includes many different blocks to choose from and different styles/layouts. This is much the same as Outlook Express with the different Vertical Panes Display.

On our test site we experimented adding the Right Hand Menu Block but this gave the forum a more confusing look plus tended to squash up the content in the Middle/Main block.

Over the last few weeks Admin and our Supporters Group have been discussing ideas submitted by our members to make the Forum easier to move around in. We discussed which blocks would be of more use on the Left Hand Menu and in which order to run them in.
These ideas were then implemented on the Test Board by Admin and more discussion with the Supporters Group followed.

Over the next couple of days you may or may not notice changes to the Left Hand Menu. It was agreed that the most read block on the Left was the ‘Recent Posts’. These have been moved to the top.

The Search Block has been removed as there are two Search Functions on the top already.

‘User Online’ has been added as members agreed they tend to scroll down the bottom to see who else is logged in.

‘Members Status’ has been removed as members very obviously prefer the Shout Box.

The ‘Most Active’ block has also been removed as that is forever and a day going to be the Birthday Shout Outs. 

Gabba has installed 2 new Themes ADK Curve and Blu. These can be found under ‘Theme Select’ for members wishing to have a more modern look or just a change in scenery.

Discussion is still in progress concerning other ideas and these will also be implemented in due course.
