And for those of us outside (or maybe even those inside) the canterbury area there is also a great book available called "Beyond the Corden" - a book almost entirely of just photos taken in the red zone in the days after the 22.2.11 quake, all the photo's are by police photographers who were the only people allowed behind the scenes to take the photos.

Have that one three times over and a very good one too - all taken by the police with good cameras.  They only put the nice ones in  but all spectacular though.  Have all the books produced on the quakes and of course a lot that are photos of before the quakes - remembering the buildings with photos.  I think a total of 7 so far - which kids and grand kids and g grand kids can look back on - hopefully. There has been only two books produced on the Sept 4th one.
I have a whole shelf of books on quakes/geology etc as have studied them for many years - not thinking that we built only two blocks from the previously unknown Greendale fault line. So you just never know where they will strike.

We had another book here that I didn't get a chance to read before it had to go back to the library "Old Bucky and Me" I think it was called, will have to get it back soon - need to get myself psyched up for the trip down there at end of next month.
