More than 100 rescued in the mountains
 
In Afghanistan more than 100 stranded people were rescued in the mountains after their vehicles got stuck in snow in the province of Bamiyan.
 
On Saturday night, 11 mini-buses got trapped in snow in the Shatoi clove. The passengers spent the night in their buses using fuel for heating.
 
Meteorologists forecast stronger snowfalls and wind in that region of Afghanistan.

Continued freezing weather, snowfall and cold-related diseases have claimed the lives of 10 children in Badakhshan province, 315 km northeast of Kabul over the past two days, a local official said Friday.
