Storm
« on: June 28, 2012, 09:36:56 PM »
We are now in the middle of a storm, it's as dark as night with thunder and lightning all around and the road is no longer a road, it's a river.

Didn't you know ?

The cricket and Wimbledon in the UK are the equivalent of a 'Red Indian' Rain Dance  :)

... This year with the added values of 'The Queens Jubilee' (Street parties washed out and supermarket 'barbie' stocks sitting on the shelves) and next The Olympics yet to brave the elements.

Expect to see the coxless fours rowing in the velodrome  :o
Imagine what you will KNOW tomorrow

I think that the following is one of the better reports: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/jun/29/uk-floods-transport-power-homes

I am not sure if the size of the hailstones is mentioned
in the above report, but they were the size of golfballs and smashed car windscreens, not pleasant.

The sky is a little less threatening today and I only expects to see a few showers but Wimbledon may see a few more.

I was lucky, our drainage systems coped with the deluge but other areas local to me did not cope as well, and there is extensive flooding and damage to a large number of properties.

First international ODI Aust v England at Lords started on time tonight (Live on SS3) but they have been off the field for a brief shower.  Back out now, England batting 8 without Loss after 3.5 overs.
