Northland to Manawatu, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Taupo, Taumarunui and Taihape
Showers, some heavy with hail, and possible thunderstorms in the west, easing late tomorrow. Snow to about 700m tonight and 500m tomorrow.

Gisborne to Wairarapa
A few showers, confined mainly about the coast tomorrow. Snow to 500 metres in Wairarapa tomorrow.

Horowhenua to Wellington
Fine today. A few showers tomorrow, some heavy with hail, and snow to 500 metres.

Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury
Fine. However, frequent showers in coastal Canterbury and Marlborough tomorrow, with snow to 400 metres.

Buller and Westland
Showers, some heavy with hail, clearing from the south tomorrow.

Fiordland, Otago and Southland
Wintry showers, persistent this evening, with snow to 100 metres overnight.

Chatham Islands
Showers, clearing for a time tomorrow morning and afternoon.
