Rain developing north of Auckland City overnight, with heavy falls and possible thundery downpours. A few showers further south.

Coromandel and northern Waikato
Cloudy periods and a few showers.

Remainder of Waikato down to Kapiti, including Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Fine spells tonight, and a few showers from Waitomo northwards clearing. Mainly fine tomorrow.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Wellington
Cloudy periods and a few showers, clearing from Wellington tomorrow morning.

Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Cloudy at times. A few showers, mainly about the coast.

Nelson, Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Fine.

Chatham Islands
