Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Waikato, Waitomo and Taranaki
A few showers or drizzle patches, with possible thunderstorms in the west. Tomorrow, a band of rain spreading from the north in the late afternoon or evening, with possible thunderstorms.

Taumarunui to Wellington, including Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Cloudy periods, with patchy drizzle or showers at times, especially in the west.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Mainly fine, but a few showers near the Tararuas.

Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Areas of low cloud or fog evening and morning, and a few light showers. Becoming mainly fine tomorrow with high cloud.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Periods of rain, with possible thunderstorms about Buller.

Chatham Islands
A few showers or patchy drizzle.
