CONDEMNED: The Armson Woolstore in Moorhouse Ave has category 1 heritage protection.
Demolition orders have been issued for a raft of heritage buildings in Christchurch, including the Environment Court building in Armagh St, the Armson Woolstore in Moorhouse Ave and Majestic House in Manchester St.
The demolition orders, issued by the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority last week, also included Gough House in Hereford St, the Manchester St car park and partial demolition for the Peterborough Apartments in Peterborough St.
The Armson Woolstore has category 1 heritage protection and is a brick building behind the former Rialto cinema building.
The Environment Court building, on the corner of Armagh and Durham streets, was formerly the CSA Gallery, and also had category 1 protection.
