It's not as bad as it looks,  this is the only decent wind after weeks of calm warm weather that has dried the grass to tinder.  We celebrate the wind in Wellington hence all the amazing wind sculptures along the waterfront!

Yes, it's been weeks. These incidents reflect more on safety practices than on the weather.

Yep agree. The last few days was nothing to write home about in Wellington. Yacht club even managed to get a race to Akaroa away later in the day- I hear it was an exciting start tho!
