A few showers, clearing this afternoon and fine spells increasing.

Gisborne to Wairarapa also Wellington
Fine, apart from isolated afternoon showers.

Nelson and Marlborough, except the Kaikoura Coast
Fine.

Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury
A few showers spreading north this morning with a cool southerly change, one or two possibly heavy in the south, then clearing this evening.

Otago and Southland, also Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Showers clearing this afternoon and becoming fine, but a few showers returning to Westland and Fiordland tonight.

Chatham Islands
A few showers.
