Drizzle clearing around midday and becoming fine. Cloud returning in the evening.

Waitomo to Wellington, also the Central High Country, Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay south of Napier
Mostly fine. Scattered showers, mainly inland during the afternoon and evening where some will be heavy.

Northern Hawkes Bay and Gisborne
Fine apart from isolated showers about the ranges, some possibly heavy.

Nelson and Marlborough
Morning cloud and drizzle patches, then fine. Isolated afternoon showers about the ranges.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Scattered drizzle at first. Rain spreading slowly north from afternoon, with some heavy falls from evening.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Areas of morning cloud, then fine apart from patchy light evening rain.

Chatham Islands
