Scattered showers, especially inland during the afternoon and evening, some heavy and possibly thundery.

Wairarapa and Wellington
Scattered showers.

Nelson, Buller and Westland
Scattered showers, mainly about the ranges, some heavy with thunderstorms and hail this afternoon.

Fiordland
Mainly fine.

Marlborough, Canterbury and eastern Otago
Scattered showers, with snow lowering to 700 metres south of Arthurs Pass until this morning.

Remainder of Otago and Southland
Showers clearing overnight and fine spells increasing. Isolated showers returning this afternoon and evening.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods.
