A front just north of Northland is expected to move very slowly south today (Sunday) and Monday. A moist airmass with easterly gales and periods of heavy rain precedes this front. In Northland, bursts of heavy rain until later this evening could bring a further 60 to 90mm in the north and east, on top of the significant amount of rain that has already fallen. In addition, bursts of heavy rain are expected about the Coromandel Peninsula from this afternoon until Monday afternoon, where 90 to 120mm may accumulate.
