Re establishing logfile in correct format

Hi

I've had to make a large number of corrections to my Feb log file. It was far easier to do it in excel, than via WD

So now I have a file in excel that I can save in a whole heap of formats. The closest format I can find to the logfile format is  to save the excel file as .csv, then find and replace in a text editor, the commas, with a space.

When I did that the log file isn't quite right - that is the format is still different to the other months log files. I've noticed some of the fields are seperated by two spaces, and others by just one.

So, two questions:
(a) does anyone know the file format for the log file?
(b) has anyone else pulled data from excel before and how did you convert it?

Solved this one thanks to the guys at Weather Watch (Actually Weather Display - thanks once again!)

Basically the file can be edited in excel, and then saved as a space delimited file. The option preserves the formatting so you need to make sure you space out all the columns enough so there is at least one space between each field. If there are multiple spaces between fields it isn't an issue.

There is a trick to the first column as well for the editing while in Excel - as because the first single digit days of the month use only one column - one letter space, you get a data shift you don't want for everything else across the page - just for the first 9 days.  It is essential to make that shift so the columns line up.  When saving, it doesn't matter as two spaces still get treated as one space by WD when it is read back into the program.
