Possible flash flooding in Canterbury

Police have received reports that a large surge of water is visible from the air moving down the Waimakiri River towards the sea.
Police are requesting the public move away from the low lying river bank areas of all Canterbury rivers.

That is all we need Mark as flat land between us and the Waimak and hope the stop banks are higher than the surge.
