Observation for 18th December 2012:
Today started off mostly cloudy and by 8am the wind was already well established from the SW, the pong of rotting Mussel Shells from the neighboring dairy farm was wafting in on the very light SW airs, perfect conditions to put the roof on our new Garage/Office/Workshop which was half up by morning Smoko.  Some showers were evident on the Met Service rain radar but only a couple put a toe over the Kaimai’s and then just fizzled out, they were long gone by 10:00am.  By 11:30am the wind had picked up to about 20km which made it marginal for the roofers but they got the job done.  The amount of cloud has decreased as the day has passed and we have had our hottest day of the summer with the mercury reaching 26.9c at 16:34.
