Northland to Taranaki, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Cloud increasing, and scattered rain gradually spreading south tomorrow.

Gisborne to Wairarapa
Fine and warm, with increasing high cloud.

Wanganui to Wellington, also northern Marlborough, Nelson and Buller
Fine today. Cloud increasing tomorrow with late drizzle.

The remainder of Marlborough, also Canterbury
Fine and warm. However, high cloud increasing tomorrow and scattered rain developing about the high country towards evening.

Otago and Southland
Warm with high cloud and a few spots of rain. Rain becoming widespread tomorrow afternoon.

Westland and Fiordland
Rain south of the Glaciers, spreading north tomorrow, with heavy falls. The rain clearing Fiordland tomorrow night.

Chatham Islands
Long fine spells.

Tuesday
North Island, rain in most areas but only brief falls in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. South Island, rain over the northern half clearing. Mainly fine in the south.

Wednesday
Mainly fine, but isolated showers over the northern half of the North Island and a few morning drizzle patches from Taranaki to Kapiti.

Thursday
North Island, fine apart from isolated showers from Northland to Waikato. South Island, Rain developing in Fiordland and South Westland. Generally fine and warm elsewhere.

Friday
Rain spreading to most South Island areas and also Northland. Dry elsewhere.
