Short Queensland holiday weather
« on: July 27, 2012, 11:54:00 AM »
Spent 9 complete days in Queensland - 7 nights/6 whole days at Port Douglas, 2 travelling bwetween Brisbane and Cairns/PD and one whole day in Brisbane on return leg. Weather excellent, no rain at all. Port Douglas (using Cairns data which should be similar, as PD numbers not immediately available online) had 4 sunny days and 2 partly cloudy, travel days sunny. Max temps ranged from 24 to 27.5, lows from 15.5 to 20. With moderate sun angles and light breezes away from main beachfront conditions were delightful.

Had a brilliant blue-dome day for doing the Skyrail to Kuranda and back on the scenic railway. Waterfall on Barron river is small at this time of year, spectacular during the wet season.

Daytime temps at Brisbane around the 21/22 mark, mostly sunny. Nights quite cool at 9C-11C.
