Yes the forum is Tapatalk enabled. This means that for those with smartphones, you can access the forum on the run, at work, at the local cafe or even while you are on the t**l*t (but please don't tell us about it!)
So here's how to set it up on Android:
1: Firstly, download the app from the app store and install it on your phone. There is a cost - currently it's $2.99
2: Once installed, fire it up
3: You'll see a screen asking you to connect to a forum - from memory you can search for a forum to add
Searching for the app
If you have the app installed already or you have the app installed for the first time, the easiest way to find the forum is to type in "NZ Local Weather" into the search box
4: Perform the search, and select "NZ Local Weather Forum". Click on OK. You should then be into the forum
5: Don't forget to logon!
Next time you go into Tapatalk you will go straight to a menu where you can select the NZ Local Weather Forum, and log straight in.

One drawback with Tapatalk is that it cannot show a shoutbox - so with the current idea being floated of including a second shoutbox as the daily weather chat would mean Tapatalk users could not see it, or post to it.
How many people use Tapatalk? Have you any idea?
Also, another comment about Tapatalk - the app has changed recently and now displays some 3rd party advertising. Forum owners have no control over the content which is shown - some adult dating sites seem common etc etc. Not necessarily a very desirable situation as it can appear that "your" forum is endorsing those style of ads.

Interesting, I've just updated Tapatalk on my tablet and the ads don't seem to be there at the moment.

I think there are free and paid versions. Not sure. I gave up on tapatalk when they put out an upgrade and asked me to pay for it. I had already paid once and my choice was that or revert to the ad supported version. There didn't seem to be any new functionality in the new version.
Guess if you pay for it now you might have better luck.

There's no longer a paid or pro version, Tapatalk went to be a free version earlier this year.
The ads were showing before this last update of 5/7/14

I still have access to the stats on the tapatalk site but it's probably worthwhile asking if anyone uses tapatalk, or would miss it if it disappeared
