Additional Information: `Lake effect snow is affecting areas south of Lake Huron and along the immediate shoreline this morning. As northerly winds become more northwesterly later today, the lake effect snow will begin to impact areas farther east and southeast of Lake Huron.
Of particular concern is the potential development of a very strong lake effect band tonight into Tuesday morning with intense snowfall rates of 5 to 10 cm per hour. If this band becomes nearly stationary, accumulations well in excess of 30 cm would be possible. The worst conditions are expected to remain to the west and northwest of the city of London.
Travel will likely be extremely hazardous. Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Roads and walkways will likely be very difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
