Wednesday

Northland to Taranaki, also Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and Taupo

Cloudy periods today, the odd shower possible about eastern coasts. Scattered showers tomorrow, turning to rain in Northland in the morning and elsewhere later.

Whanganui and Taihape to Wellington, including Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa also Canterbury.

Fine today. High cloud increasing tomorrow, and scattered rain developing in the evening.

Nelson, Marlborough, Buller and Westland

Cloud increasing. Isolated showers developing this evening. Showers turning to rain everywhere tomorrow, with some heavy falls.

Otago and Southland

Cloudy periods, but scattered rain about Southland and Clutha. Rain becoming widespread tomorrow, with some heavy falls inland, and snow lowering to 600 metres over Central Otago.

Fiordland and Stewart Island

Showers, turning to rain this evening, becoming heavy overnight. Rain easing tomorrow.

Chatham Islands

Mainly fine.

Thursday

North Island: Rain for most, with some heavy falls in the north and west, easing to isolated showers later, but rain may linger about eastern Bay of Plenty and Gisborne. South Island: Periods of rain, with some heavy falls in the north and east.
