These have been completed to February 1971. Entries already exist for March 1971 to May 1981 inclusive, but I will be updating them as time permits.

That's great, thanks indeed. It is really handy to be able to dip into any given month/year when one is curious and compare it with current conditions.

and thanks from me.
Your are building an amazing unique record of weather history.
I have won many an argument being able to look up my proof :)

Thank you both, much appreciated. I haven't been idle in the interim - first finishing updates to rainfall monthly tables for 120-odd NZ stations - adding in 2012-2016, which took a long while on an ad hoc basis - a fairly boring task to complete. Also getting some more data for the (in)famous Cropp Waterfall site and completing some analyses of it - have already discovered new records for NZ highest 24-hour and 48-hour rainfalls, which NIWA hasn't updated yet on a page where they list extremes. When I have the latest rain data I will mention these. And of course - having a life enjoying summer activities! 8)
