Northland to Kapiti, including Coromandel and the central high country
Rain, easing to a few showers tonight. Showers more frequent for a time tomorrow, with possible thunderstorms from western Waikato to Horowhenua.
Bay of Plenty and Gisborne
Rain clearing overnight tonight. Mainly fine tomorrow, but a few showers from afternoon.
Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa and Wellington
Rain clearing tonight. Gale west or northwest winds, easing tomorrow morning. A southerly change tomorrow afternoon brings showers.
Marlborough and Nelson
Rain clearing this evening. Brief showers tomorrow, then clearing later.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Showers, some heavy with possible thunderstorms, gradually clearing from the south tomorrow.
Canterbury and Otago
Scattered rain this evening, then a few showers tomorrow morning and afternoon.
Southland
Scattered rain, turning to showers tonight, then becoming isolated later tomorrow.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods today. Rain tomorrow.
