Northland, Auckland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Gisborne
A few showers, clearing from Gisborne tomorrow afternoon.

Waikato to Kapiti Coast, including the central high country
Periods of rain, possibly heavy, easing tomorrow evening. Southeast winds, severe gale in exposed places, easing this evening.

Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, Wellington and Marlborough
Rain, with heavy falls, easing in Hawkes Bay tonight and elsewhere tomorrow. Southeast winds, gale in exposed places, easing tonight.

Canterbury
Occasional rain or drizzle.

Nelson and Buller
Occasional rain, clearing tomorrow. Southeast winds, gale in exposed places, easing tonight.

Westland and Fiordland
Fine with high cloud.

Otago and Southland
Areas of cloud. Drizzle about North Otago spreading to Dunedin and Clutha tomorrow.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy. Rain developing tomorrow.
