Forecast in Brief for Monday the 21st May 2018

Northland to Waikato, including Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Fine spells and a few showers, clearing later tonight. Showers returning tomorrow morning, some possibly heavy about the west coast.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Fine.

Waitomo to Manawatu, including the central high country
Cloudy periods and a few showers, turning to rain for a time tomorrow morning.

Horowhenua to Wellington, also Wairarapa, Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Rain spreading north tonight, clearing tomorrow morning. Northwesterlies, severe gale in exposed places, easing tomorrow morning.

Buller to Fiordland
Rain, with heavy falls and squally thunderstorms. Snow lowering to 300 metres in Fiordland overnight. Showers tomorrow.

Otago and Southland
Rain or showers, some heavy with hail, clearing tomorrow. Snow lowering to 300 metres overnight. Northwest gales, easing this evening.

Chatham Islands

Fine tonight. A period of rain tomorrow.
