Northland, Auckland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Showers, some heavy, easing and becoming isolated tonight, then scattered showers from tomorrow evening.
Waikato to Manawatu, including the central high country
Fine spells and isolated showers, then scattered showers from tomorrow afternoon.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Scattered light rain clearing tonight and becoming fine.
Horowhenua to Wellington, also Wairarapa, Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Mainly fine. However, scattered rain later tomorrow and northwesterlies rising to gale.
Buller to Fiordland
A few showers. Rain with heavy falls and squally thunderstorms spreading north tomorrow.
Otago and Southland
Fine today, apart from showers about coastal Southland. Showers spreading north tomorrow, possibly thundery with hail in Southland. Northwest gales tomorrow, easing in the afternoon.
Chatham Islands
Periods of rain, clearing tonight. Fine tomorrow.
