Northland to Waikato, also Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo
Showers, some heavy, with possible thunderstorms tomorrow.
Waitomo, Taumarunui and Taranaki
Periods of rain or showers, with some heavy falls and thunderstorms, easing tomorrow evening.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Fine spells.
Whanganui, Taihape and Manawatu
Cloudy periods. Scattered showers clearing this afternoon but returning tomorrow afternoon, some heavy.
Kapiti, Wellington and Wairarapa
Mostly cloudy with showers, but longer fine spells about Wairarapa today. Rain tomorrow afternoon, briefly heavy.
Nelson and Marlborough
Periods of rain, heavy and possibly thundery at times, clearing tomorrow evening apart from a few showers about the Kaikoura
Coast.
Canterbury, also Buller and Westland
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers, but long fine spells about southern Westland tomorrow.
Fiordland, Otago and Southland
Mainly fine today. Showers spreading north tomorrow morning and afternoon.
Chatham Islands
Mostly cloudy with a few showers.
