Interesting situation for W'gton re Jan-March sunshine. The record low at Kelburn (1928-) is 522.3 hours. As of yesterday we had 492.1, so need 30.2 hours form the last 3 days of the month to avoid setting a new low. That means pretty close to 3 blue-dome days. Today is cooperating, should record close to 11 hours I think, provided no clouds turn up later in the afternoon. The low record from older city sites should be safe at 514.4 hours (1918), given the fine forecasts for the next several days.

Several brief light showers around dawn, then overcast and dry for the rest of the morning. A few brief fine breaks developed in the later afternoon, but cloud was again increasing by sunset. Light to moderate SSW wind during the morning, tending SE later. Mild pm temps.
