Title: Forum outage: 31 Dec 2017
Post by: gabba on December 31, 2017, 12:09:41 PM
Hi all

Happy new year to everyone. We are a couple of patches short on the core forum files and I'd like to patch these up tonight if possible.

The patches being applied contain security and minor enhancements. One key change is support for PHP7. Implementing this, along with a couple of other changes I've already made on the server should make things run a little faster.

The forum will be unavailable while the changes are being made. This could be as early as from 7pm tonight. If all goes well it won't take too long to make the changes.

Any concerns or questions please post below

... You are going to willingly do software upgrades on New Years Eve ???

I think you must be " a couple of patches short "

...that's probably quite accurate ;-)

I figured that early this evening would be a good time as I thought it would be a quiet time. If it all goes well it will be pretty simple. If not, then I'll try and stay off the alcohol for as long as possible lol
