Title: This would be awful to watch your house being pulled down.
Post by: Suezy on March 27, 2012, 10:54:38 PM
From our earthquake on 4th September 2010 - so many houses in Bexley and Eastern suburbs were red stickered  from that quake and were classified as unlivable.- owing to the damage that was done from our quake alone - then further damage was sustained from the later quakes.  One of my daughters house was one of them - but not having another place to go to they had to stay - like so many of the people there - no sewer no water no electricity and cracks right through the house which widened with each and every later quake.  Doors didn't fit etc and that  was only the tip of the iceberg.
This couple here in the article went back to see there house pulled down. Photos included being pulled down.  Don't think I could have done it.

What a sad thing to watch with all the memories. I don't think I could watch my house being pulled down. I would keep wondering if I had left anything important in there.
Do you know what they are going to do with the land that can't be built on?
