My supposedly very good large HP 210 will not draw papaer into the rollers anymore, even hand feeding seems to run into a narrow slot that won't receive. Eventually I get it in and sucked up to print.
So am looking at discounts in Noel Leeming this week - Canon Maxify MB2160 ($70) or the Maxify MB5160 ($130). Also there is the Brother MFCJ5720DW (A3) printer ($180) these are all discounted by $80, $100, $150 cash back respectively. These are classed as Office pronter ranges vs the compact flat personal pronters for $60 - $80.
All are Print, Scan, Copy, Wi-fi / cloud printing capability
Between the two Brothers, the dearer is faster and has a touch screen, the other is slower (huh? :) ) and has button menu. For $129 I will go for the middle price one - I don't need A3 capability
My current HP was $165 IIRC and is noisy, very slow to print first sheet - about one minute to get itself into gear, clean the cartridge print face exercise itself making lots of noises, then tries to suck in the first page...
So a good excuse to upgrade for cheaper and faster!!

I have to say I've had a mixed bag success with inkjet printers.
I used Canon Pixma MG5000 series for a while, but then the print heads packed up giving error messages. Three went to be recycled last week.
I'm using Epson workforce 36xx printers at the moment, but the print quality varies and I regularly get ink smudges on the paper. I seem to be always cleaning either the heads or wiping the paper path. The scanning is the best feature of them. This has led to buying a Brother HL-L2360DW B&W laser which is the most reliable and used for most of the office work. Excellent quality printing every time. I also now require to print in A3 and purchased a Brother DCP-J4120DW which so far is working well. A bit of a pain only having a single sheet feed for the A3 though.
Having two properties requires a number of printers, but unfortunately they sit in very warm positions of the houses which probably affects them especially if they aren't used for weeks on end.

I do love the Epson but the inks cost to much so we down graded to a HP ENVY 4500 it works a treat and the inks are more affordable

Thanks Tony - the Brother DCP-J4120DW was on special too at Noel Leemings at the same time about $150 off, perhaps $185 or something. I thought I still had the discount mailbox brochure... couldn't find it right now to confirm the prices, but I didn't need the A3 capability. I am very impressed with the larger Canon MB5160 model - and the digital screen sharing comments and info all the time. Printed very quickly in colour from the laptop - all Wi-fi through the router, and then a glossy photo from my cellphone printed slowly but beautifully too on heavy Kodak paper. Has double sided printing capability from the top loading auto feeder for double sided scanning. The top sheet loader goes sideways and the print function is in in the bottom cassette from right in front, and the out tray is just above it. Nice design, large cartridges and suits me just lovely!! LOL! The CANON MB5160 that is... it's slight problem dealing with them (Canon) on the internet to register - difficult to enter Waikato as the State, and I was registered with my Canon 600D already, but hey! All in the family as the saying goes...
Even the wifey was happy too to get rid of the old noisy, clunky HP B210.
