Title: HomeWeatherStation All-4-One Version 3.4
Post by: JennyLeez on January 17, 2017, 01:17:48 PM
I have waited until bugs have been ironed out before running this version and posting it up here.

The new version ALL-4-ONE released September 2016 (Optimised  December 2016)  has been redesigned and now all versions are built into one unique ALL-4-ONE version . ALL-4-ONE offers new menu system to change color theme from dark to light or vice-versa. The menu system now includes facility to change units displayed into various combinations to suit non metric , UK and scandinavian users. It also now in many languages :)

Much has been changed with this version as you will see. Much tidier and much more informative.
This is not an upgrade. You need to start from fresh but can copy details from old settings page to new setting page (settings1). 1 of the cronjobs has also been deleted and a new one put in place. Easy enough to alter text in your cronjobs  for this though. Heaps more graphs which are cool.

There is also now a Setup page making it easier to fill in your settings files. I will add screenshots below. They are not clear as compressed but will give you idea.

@TonyC (http://www.localweather.net.nz/smf/mlist/tonyc_78) I had to fiddle with my php.ini to get this version to function. So yell if you have a play :)

Looks very nice Jenny on how you have added that to your home page layout.

I am still on v.3.1 so will have to do another version install...
KOMOKA, ON CANADA Home Weather Station (http://www.komokaweather.com/pws)

Enjoy,
Paul.

In version 3.2 the earthquakes have been dropped to the bottom right. Much better down there :)

Paul 3.1 to 3.2 settings1 and settings remain the same so just copy them across.

Ah! I thought the developer had given up on this one.  I was just looking at it the other day trying to figure out why the earthquake info hadn't updated since 6th Jan. My server can't run cron jobs so I have a batch file which runs every hour on my weather machine using the task scheduler.

I'll certainly have a play with it over the next week or so and give you a yell Jenny if I get stuck.
cheers

Yep same here re cronjobs Tony.
I am also running bat files for updating.

However I could not get the latest ones to update. My php error log headed me in the right direction and I made a couple of alterations to my php.ini. All good now though.

Its worth it
@TonyC (http://www.localweather.net.nz/smf/index.php?action=profile;u=78) - The new layout is much flasher :)

I've decided not to use it. The forecast panels are the down-side for me. The rest of it is good.

I've had pretty good results with this template and just the other day looked and can count 83 versions of this that I have downloaded and tried/tested since it was first introduced in October 2015 by Brian.  I use cron-job.org for the 2 cron jobs and except for a couple of times where they had some issues the cron updates have worked excellent.

A MySQL version in the future?!?

Enjoy
Paul

We are now up to Version 3.4E

@TonyC (http://www.localweather.net.nz/smf/mlist/tonyc_78)
In this version the cronjobs have been removed. So the template pretty much works out of the box.
There is also a nice user friendly setup page - easyweathersetup.php

Tony my home server did not need any alterations. Fopen needs to be switched on though.
On my paid for server I had to play with permissions.

Also the WU forecast can take an hour or so to start coming through so need to setup and walk away for a while :)

@TokWW (http://www.localweather.net.nz/smf/mlist/tokww_5)
If any of our members would like this template set up on their server give us a yell.

Here is a couple of links to the latest version:

Bishopdale

Taunton
http://nzpws.net/taunton/pws/index.php (http://nzpws.net/taunton/pws/index.php)
Bit cold up there Martin

From either Menus you can change the theme to the Dark Theme or Colour Theme to have a look.

The template may be downloaded from here:

Cheers
Jenny

Looks to me like it should be version 3.4E
and going by the Bishopdale's, there may be some issues with the WU data, or at least the chart axis values ?

Recently upgraded mine to 3.4a & will stick with that for now    http://opotikiweather.nz/pws/

Yep thats it 3.4. It appears I had them around the wrong way huh.

I have changed the topic subject to reflect this.
If the graphs are incorrect under Menu alter to metric and then your browser should get it right :)

Cheers and thanks for help.

The Maori Language file has been added in to the latest upgrade. To change the language click on the Menu top left.
See I can put New Zealand on the map as well as Dan Carter does....lol

Christchurch in Te Reo:
http://nzpws.net/bishopdale/pws/index.php?lang=mi (http://nzpws.net/bishopdale/pws/index.php?lang=mi)

Wairoa in Te Reo - Select from top Menu:
http://wairoa.net/weather/dashboard.htm (http://wairoa.net/weather/dashboard.htm)

The latest upgrades have removed the cronjobs which has made upgrading much easier.
The forecast has sped up some.
There is also now a Menu so you can just copy your own menu from version to version.

For weather Display users here is the topic on wxforum, some 40 odd pages to sift through :)

Hi Jenny,
Have just put it on my server remotely (I'm having a stint in the City at the moment).
Definitely an improvement now there are no cron jobs.
I'll have to have a read up on the settings for the forecast when I have time. I'm not convinced my key is working properly.

cheers

Don't seem to be having any luck with the forecast.
I regenerated the key and it looks as though the script has accessed it, but the clock seems to just go round and round forever. Is the page supposed to generate a file on the server or just pull data into it?  If it writes a file, where does it get the rights to do that?

cheers
TC

Got it sorted in the end.
A matter of sorting out the write rights to the jasondata directory

I've put a link off the banner of my weather page. http://www.portrobinson.nz/Weather.html

That looks cool Tony, well done.
Yes that forecast can take an hour or two to start rolling in.

Its hidden though. I could not find it to start with. Just letting you know :)

I see that support for Weather Display is no longer supported for this template.
The Weather forecast stopped being updated a couple of days ago and now won't load at all. Everything else still works, but I've removed it from my site.
Shame as it was a good template.
Looking at the WXforum and Weather-watch sites, I see a lot of people are having problems with the forecast element of template.

cheers

Interesting. The site has been updated and very clearly states it is now no longer compatible with Weather Display.

Wonder if it's just a temporary thing?

Unfortunately no, not a temporary thing with WD http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=29817.msg336865#msg336865 (http://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=29817.msg336865#msg336865).  Brian has been doing updates for Meteobridge and Cumulus only and working on adding Weatherflow  http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=15136#p128166 (http://sandaysoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=15136#p128166)

Further modification by Tony of HRVistaWeather for a MySQL version

Enjoy,
Paul

Just on a whim, I tried PWS again this afternoon and lo and behold, the forecasts were back on the page so I've been able to re-instate the link on my weather page..
I got an email from Weather Underground last week apologising for problems and stating everything was fixed, so perhaps that's where the malfunction was all along.
As PWS  no longer support Weather Display, I guess I'd better not upgrade to any later versions.

cheers

Brian (weatherist34) has been experimenting on showing an alternate forecast and current conditions (Sager) whenever WU would not be available KOMOKA, ON CANADA Smart Home Weather Station (http://www.komokaweather.com/pws-beta)

Unfortunately that will not be helpful when using WD

Enjoy,
