Title: Forecast in Brief 24th - 25th of September 2015
Post by: NZLW on September 23, 2015, 10:59:19 AM
A broad and slow-moving region of low pressure over northern New Zealand is expected to move slowly northwards during the week, while a ridge perists over much of the South Island.

Moist easterlies between these features bring outbreaks of rain to eastern areas from Gisborne to Canterbury for much of the period, and strong to gale southeasterlies to exposed parts of northern and central New Zealand. There is moderate confidence of heavy rain from Gisborne to Wairarapa on Thursday, then a low risk from Friday to Saturday. For eastern parts of Wellington, Marlborough and northern Canterbury there is a low risk of heavy rain on Thursday.

Meanwhile, showers about the remainder of the North Island eventually clear by the weekend, while the West Coast and far south of the South Island remain mostly fine.
