Title: Indoor Canon camera used as weather cam - Windows XP compatable for sale
Post by: choc-a-holic on September 07, 2015, 05:48:00 PM
I have a Canon PowerShot A85 which comes with:

The Canon remote capture software will not work on Windows 7 64 bit and I have not tried it on Vista, Windows 7 32 bit,8 or 10.  I did try running it in XP mode on Windows 7 without success.  I did find other model cameras that would run on Windows 7 after changing a setting in the menu on the camera.  I don't have this option on the camera unfortunately.

I wrote a little DOS script which converts the filename so that it can be automatically copied up to my website along with other WD data transfers.  I can provide this to you.  I can also provide remote support to help you get it going if needed as I have Citrix GoToAssist which allows me to remote control any PC with your permission.

These photos were taken using this camera - http://www.worldsouroyster.com/cms/photo-gallery/category/131-webcam?start=20 (http://www.worldsouroyster.com/cms/photo-gallery/category/131-webcam?start=20)

I am selling as it I no longer have any Windows XP devices and have purchased a new outdoor weather cam which is due to go live soon.  I thought that someone else out there might like to make me an offer for this camera.  It would cost $6.75 for me to courier it.

I still have this camera - so if you still have Windows XP on your computer you can have the camera for free....just need to pay postage of $10.  Let me know if you would like it.
