Title: Geonet rapid - accuracy of quake info
Post by: David on March 18, 2012, 10:47:15 PM
Has anyone else noticed the major variation in earthquake parameters with the updates for a particular earthquake. For example, check out the changing depth and magnitude estimates of this one!

I suppose with these smaller quakes there is a lack of good information for reliable results to be obtained. Don't see such variation on the Chch quakes which are picked up by a number of seismographs.

If you press on the map on rhs you will see if it has been confirmed or not. I won't put any on the site till all ok as being checked.  That is not showing enough green "goods" ..
