Northland to Taranaki, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo
Isolated showers in the west, spreading elsewhere this afternoon or evening.
Wanganui to Wellington, including Taihape, also Gisborne to Wairarapa
Fine at first, apart from isolated showers about coastal Wairarapa. A period of squally showers spreading north this afternoon and evening, with snow to 600 metres.
Nelson and Marlborough
Fine, apart from a period of showers this afternoon.
Canterbury
A period of squally showers, from late morning, with snow to 400 metres, then fine apart from a few lingering showers about Banks Peninsula.
Buller and Westland
A period of rain spreading north, otherwise fine.
Fiordland, Southland and Otago
Few showers turning to rain for a time this morning, with snow to 300 metres.
