Title: Forecast in Brief for Wednesday 8th July 2015

Northland to Waitomo, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo
Periods of rain, with some heavy falls, possible squally thunderstorms and hail. Rain easing to showers during the morning and then clearing in Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo this afternoon.

Central high country, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Rain, heavy at times, with snow to 500 metres overnight, easing to a few showers today.

Taranaki to Wellington, also Wairarapa
Showers with small hail, and some heavy at first. Snow to 300 metres.

Marlborough
Mainly fine, apart from sleety showers about the coast.

Nelson, Buller, Westland and Central Otago
Fine, with severe morning frosts.

Canterbury
Sleet or snow showers about North and Mid Canterbury.

Remainder of Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Showers, with snow to near sea level gradually lifting to 400 metres.

Chatham Islands
Showers.
