Northland, Auckland and Coromandel
A few showers, possibly heavy with thunderstorms about Great Barrier Island and Coromandel.
Bay of Plenty
Rain developing in the west this morning, spreading east from afternoon, with some heavy falls.
Waikato to Taranaki, also the Central Plateau
Scattered showers developing this morning.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Cloudy periods, with isolated showers at first.
Wanganui to Wellington, also Wairarapa, Marlborough and Canterbury
Mostly fine. However, a few showers developing from Manawatu to Kapiti this evening.
Nelson
Cloudy periods.
Buller and Westland
A few showers north of Hokitika easing this evening, but developing in the south tonight.
Fiordland
A few showers developing this afternoon, then turning to heavy rain tonight.
Otago, Southland
Fine, apart from a few light showers about the south coast. Rain developing in Southland tonight.
