Northland to Wanganui, including Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Frequent showers, some squally and thundery with hail. Showers easing this morning and clearing about the central high country and Bay of Plenty by evening.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Showers about the ranges with a few spreading east early morning and again later today.
Manawatu to Wellington also Wairarapa
Early rain easing to showers, clearing later, but a few showers lingering about the Wairarapa.
Nelson and Marlborough excluding the Kaikoura Coast
Rain clearing early morning, then fine.
Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury
Rain easing to showers this morning, and clearing this afternoon.
Otago and Southland
Rain, with snow to 400 metres, easing to showers this morning and becoming fine inland.
Buller to Fiordland
Cloudy periods.
