Northland, Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula
Rain in Northland and a few showers elsewhere. Rain spreading further south during the morning, possibly heavy and thundery at times in the east.
Bay of Plenty and Taupo
Cloud increasing and patchy drizzle developing this morning.
Waikato to Manawatu and Gisborne to Wairarapa, excluding Taranaki
Fine apart from some cloudy periods
Taranaki
Cloudy periods, and a few showers clearing this morning.
Horowhenua to Wellington
Mostly cloudy with a few showers.
Nelson and Marlborough Sounds
Scattered rain.
Remainder of Marlborough to Southland
Fine with high cloud.
Buller
Rain, heavy at times, easing this morning.
Westland
Cloudy, with some patchy rain or drizzle.
Fiordland
Rain, mainly in the south and heavy there at times.
