Northland to Taranaki, including Coromandel Peninsula
Showers, some heavy.
Bay of Plenty
Fine, apart from isolated showers in the west.
Taupo, Taihape and Wanganui
Scattered showers, falling as snow above 900 metres.
Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Fine, apart from a few showers about coastal Wairarapa.
Manawatu, Horowhenua Kapiti Coast, Wellington, Nelson and Marlborough
Fine weather.
Canterbury
Showers about Banks Peninsula, with severe southwest gales and snow above 500 metres. The odd shower in Christchurch this evening.
Buller and Westland
Fine, apart from a few coastal showers in Buller.
Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Showers, with snow above 300 metres at first. Southwest gales about coastal Otago.
Chatham Islands
Showers, some heavy and thundery with hail, easing this morning.
