Title: Forecast in Brief for Sunday 24th May 2015

Northland to Taranaki, including Coromandel Peninsula
Showers, some heavy with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Strong southwesterlies.

Bay of Plenty
Scattered showers clearing this morning, but returning in the west from afternoon.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay
Rain clearing this morning and gale southerlies easing.

Wanganui and Taupo to Wellington, including Wairarapa
Isolated showers, becoming scattered this evening. Strong south to southwest winds. Snow to 500 metres overnight.

Nelson
Mainly fine.

Marlborough and Canterbury
Fine at first. Showers with strong cold southerlies with snow to 400 metres developing in Canterbury this afternoon, then spreading north later.

Buller, Westland
Scattered showers, mainly north of the Glaciers.

Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Showery with hail and thunder possible from late afternoon. Snow lowering to sea level, with significant accumulations above 200 metres.
