Northland to Waitomo, also Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo
A few showers south of Hamilton today. Rain tomorrow, with heavy and thundery falls, followed by a few showers from afternoon.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Fine today. Cloud increasing tomorrow and a period of rain from late morning.
Taranaki and Taihape to Kapiti, also Wairarapa
Showers turning rain tonight, with some heavy and thundery falls, followed by showers.
Wellington, also Nelson and Marlborough
Showers, turning to rain tonight with some heavy and thudnery falls, clearing tomorrow morning.
Canterbury and Otago
Heavy rain about the divide today and scattered falls further east. Rain becoming widespread tomorrow, then clearing later.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Rain, with heavy falls and squally thunderstorms, easing to a few showers tomorrow morning.
Southland and Clutha
Occasional rain.
