Northland, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and Taupo
Cloudy periods and isolated showers.
Auckland, Waikato and Waitomo
Fine, apart from a few cloudy periods.
Taumarunui and Taranaki
Cloudy with occasional drizzle.
Gisborne to Wairarapa, also Wanganui, Taihape and Manawatu
Fine, apart from a few cloudy periods.
Horowhenua to Wellington, also Nelson and Marlborough
Mostly cloudy with a few showers, turning to rain tonight.
Buller, Westland, Fiordland, and the Canterbury High Country
Rain, with heavy falls and possible thunderstorms. Northwest gales about the Canterbury High Country.
The remainder of Canterbury
High cloud, with a few spots of rain.
Otago and Southland
Mostly cloudy, with scattered rain, becoming more persistent about the Lakes this morning. The rain clearing this afternoon and becoming fine.
