Northland, Auckland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Occasional showers, some maybe heavy, with possible thunderstorms about eastern Bay of Plenty this morning.
Waikato to Manawatu, including Taupo and Taihape
Showers, some heavy, with possible thunderstorms and hail this morning and afternoon.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mainly fine but showers about the ranges, and a few showers elsewhere from afternoon.
Kapiti, Wellington, and Wairarapa
Occasional rain, heavy and possibly thundery with hail, easing this afternoon.
Marlborough, Nelson, Buller and Westland
Occasional rain, possibly heavy at first, easing to a few showers this morning or afternoon and fine spells developing.
Canterbury and Otago
Rain clearing most places this morning, but a few showers remaining about the coast and southern Otago.
Southland and Fiordland
Occasional showers, clearing from the fiords this morning.
