Northland
Cloudy periods, with isolated showers in the west.
Western areas from Auckland down to Wellington, including the central high country, also Coromandel
Cloudy periods. A few showers developing this morning, turning to rain south of Hamilton tonight, with possible thunderstorms in Taranaki and Kapiti.
Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Mainly fine, but rain in Wairarapa tonight.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Fine this morning. A few showers developing this afternoon, turning to rain this evening.
Otago and Southland
Rain developing this morning, clearing tonight.
Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Rain with some heavy falls spreading north today, possibly thundery in Buller this evening but clearing south of Hokitika.
