Northland, Auckland and Coromandel
A few showers turning to rain for a time, possibly heavy.
Waikato to Wellington, also Bay of Plenty, the central high country and Wairarapa
Periods of rain, heavy at times, with possible thunderstorms in the west.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Outbreaks of rain.
Nelson and Marlborough
Scattered rain, clearing this morning and fine spells increasing. Brief evening showers.
Canterbury
Cloudy periods, with scattered showers spreading north this morning and afternoon.
Otago and Southland
Rain in Otago, easing this morning to a few showers everywhere.
Buller and Westland
Showers clearing in the evening and becoming fine.
Fiordland
Fine, apart from a few showers about the south coast.
Chatham Islands
Cloud increasing, rain developing this afternoon, heavy at times.
