Title: RESULT - Match 37 - New Zealand vs Bangladesh 13th March
Post by: Wolfie33 on March 15, 2015, 12:18:09 PM
RESULT

Cripes mate, Baz McCullum won a toss!! And decide to bowl.
A good effort from Bangladesh, reaching 288 for 7 wickets after 50 overs, Mahmudullah not out on 128.
Wickets were fairly well shared around among our boys.

In reply, Guptill was all business, but we lost McCullum & Williamson cheaply, the acid now on the middle order. Good to see that they came through, & also had some time out in the middle. Taylor seemed to struggle mostly, but still managed a half century, while Elliott & Anderson made 39 apiece & in quick time. Anderson was skittled in the 48th over & we still needed some 20 runs, & the onus was now on Vettori, Southee & co. Vettori somehow conjured up a six (that's a rarity for him) & then Southee finished it off in the 49th with a six followed by a four. Guptill top scored with a century (105).

So a win to the Black Caps, but boy, do we love to make our games interesting or what ??
In the entertainment stakes, I reckon we are way way out in front !!  ;D

Current MetService long range has showers screwing up QF at W'gton, but I have little faith in a forecast that far out - timings could easily be out by 2 days. If no result, then NZ go through.

Thanks Rupert
Following your comments weather wise, I had a quick look at a few forecasts for the 21st.
At this stage it doesn't look too bad, 1 out of 3 predicting a high chance of late showers, no issues from the others. Time will tell, & as you say, much can happen between now & then.

And yes, spot on regarding the possibility of a no result in our quarter final.
The Black Caps would go through courtesy of finishing in a higher place in the pool games.
