From Northland to Kapiti, including Bay of Plenty, the central high country, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mainly fine, but areas of morning low cloud or fog and isolated showers inland this afternoon and evening, some heavy about the central high country with possible thunderstorms.
Wellington, Wairarapa and coastal Marlborough
Becoming cloudy this morning, and drizzle patches developing.
Inland Marlborough, Nelson, Buller and Westland
Mainly fine, but showers inland this afternoon and evening, some heavy with possible thunderstorms.
Canterbury
Showers spreading from the south overnight, then clearing this afternoon.
Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Fine spells increasing this morning.
